Drone GSD & mission calculator

Pick a camera or drone, set a target resolution, and get the flight altitude, image footprint, photo count, flight time and battery plan — instantly, on any device.

Ground sample distance (GSD) is the real-world size of one image pixel on the ground. Finer GSD means more detail, usually from flying lower, with more photos and longer flight time.

GSD = (sensor width × altitude) / (focal length × image width)

Blur-free speed uses a 0.5-pixel motion-blur limit (planning).

In Australia, standard RPA operations are capped at 120 m AGL unless you hold an approval. Check the rules for your operation before you fly.
