What thermal is
What thermal is

A thermal payload reads surface temperature differences across an asset or site. That is how you find resistance at joints, overheating plant and heat signatures RGB cannot show.

It does not identify materials and it does not build a survey model. Geometry and colour still need LiDAR or a mapping camera when those are the deliverable.

What you leave with
What you leave with

Find-and-flag workflows use thermal to locate the hot spot, then zoom or EO for evidence. Radiometric cameras give temperatures you can trend in a report when emissivity and distance are set honestly.

Miss the load condition and the fault stays quiet. Fly when the asset is under the load your programme cares about.

Radiometric vs zoom
Radiometric vs zoom

Radiometric stills support trend work and signed numbers when you correct for emissivity, distance and ambient conditions. Zoom optics get you onto the bolt or bushing you care about from a safe standoff.

H30T carries both on one gimbal. H30 keeps the long-range EO path without thermal when temperature is not the deliverable.

Thermal vs UV
Thermal vs UV

Thermal finds resistance under load. UV finds corona discharge. They are different faults on the same corridor.

Many network programmes fly both sensors on the same airframe, or rotate payloads by season. We map the pair against the inspection standard you invoice.

Questions, answered

Choosing

Should I buy Zenmuse H30 or H30T?
H30 if the billable output is long-range visible zoom and laser pin-pointing without thermal. H30T if you also need radiometric thermal on the same gimbal. Public safety, utilities and fire often land on H30T. Pure visual inspection can stay on H30. We route from the deliverable, not the brochure feature list.
Thermal or UV for powerline inspection?
Thermal finds resistance under load. UV finds corona discharge. They are different faults. Carry both when the programme inspects for both, or rotate payloads by season.
When is C30N the better pick than H30T?
When night vision and low-light EO are the primary job and radiometric thermal is secondary or absent. C30N is a specialist night path. For daytime utility and solar heat work, H30T is the usual dual zoom-and-thermal payload.
Do I need radiometric data?
Yes if you trend temperatures or write numbers into a report. Zoom-only or non-radiometric thermal can be enough for find-and-flag workflows where the deliverable is locate and photograph, not a signed temperature.

Buying

What does a Zenmuse H30T cost in Australia?
From $17,335 AUD on this page (incl. GST, Melbourne stock). Final kit price depends on aircraft, accessories and Care. Ask for a configured quote when you compare landed kit totals.
Do you sell the payload alone or only as a full kit?
Either. Payload-only when you already fly a compatible Matrice. Full kit when you need airframe, controller and handover in one order. We confirm fitment before quoting.
Can I demo the thermal workflow before buying?
Yes. Book a demo or workflow review. Bring the asset type and the aircraft you fly. We would rather prove the capture and report path than sell a sensor that sits on a shelf.

Compatibility

Which aircraft does H30 / H30T fit?
H30 Series mounts on Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK with DJI RC Plus. Matrice 400 and docked Matrice 4D programmes often use different native sensors. We confirm the path against your next buy cycle before you order.
Will this fit Matrice 4D or Dock 3?
Selected thermal packages can. Product pages list fitment. We confirm against your dock and airframe before quoting so you do not buy the wrong gimbal path.

Accuracy

How accurate are the temperature numbers?
Absolute temperature depends on emissivity, distance, ambient conditions and calibration. Treat brochure numbers as a starting point, not a signed-off reading. We set Pilot 2 defaults and teach correction habits at handover.

Workflow

What does capture to client report look like?
Capture in DJI Pilot 2. Visible and thermal stills land on card. H30T R-JPEGs process in DJI Thermal Analysis Tool, or through Thermalmapper when you want inspection products tied to your asset language. We wire the export you invoice during commissioning.

Support

What warranty and support do I get?
A 12-month warranty backed by Australian Consumer Law, with support from our Melbourne team. The same engineers who matched the payload to your airframe and ran handover stay on the phone. DJI Care Enterprise is available where eligible.
